I live in Louisville, KY, and I'm headed to B'ham to go to law school at Samford. I loved their campus and the overall area, but I am having a hard time finding an apartment that will be quiet, clean and safe. I've seen a lot of places that look suitable and then I read horrible reviews online. I've narrowed my search down to a few, but am more than willing to listen to any suggestions. I liked Chestnut Tree and Rollingwood. Hickory Knoll and Redmont Gardens seemed okay, but the reviews weren't the best. Any suggestions would be appreciated. And does anyone know anything about the water bills and what I could expect out of my utility bills in general. I've heard the prices have risen due to some city issues. Thanks.

There are a lot of different apartments that you would probably like. How much do you want to spend and how many bedrooms are you looking for. Also do you have any pets?

Yes the biggest problem we have on this forum is people needing to give us more information on their budget etc....

If you're going to be a 1L you want to live close. (Trust me you're going to have to go back to the library to study at night.) Thus living in Redmont Gardens is going to be too far and get old after a while or in Inverness (some of the worst traffic in Bham). Try the Abbey at Lakeshore, Wildforest, some of the complexes closer to school. A lot of people live in Wildwood Crossing too although thats a little noisier. You don't want to live on the other side of Lakeshore with Green Springs and all that, its a little less safe. Good luck on apt hunting.
