Florida Scrub Jay's.... do they walk or fly?

What the heck is a scrub jay..... I see a picture of a bird......... wait......... don't they fly? Why would they be "crossing"??
Okay, I have an inquiring mind.... so I wanted to find out for myself.
So, here is what I found out! These little beauties are on the threatened species list for the State of Florida... they ONLY live in Florida.... and yes they can fly. HOWEVER, they like to walk along the side of the roadways and bury nuts..... and pick up bugs. Therefore........

Historic Motel in North Port - Warm Mineral Springs Motel

So, I went to discover the Warm Mineral Springs Motel to find out about it's architecture, and history...
I drove around the outside parking lot, to tour the outside of the building. I noticed the smell of a freshly paved parking lot... and really unique mid-century modern lines. The rooms have a door that announced the number, an A/C Unit and what appears to be NO WINDOWS... Initially, I thought this was a bit strange and definitely have to ask about this!
I went into the lobby...........

Cool History in North Port Florida

A little bit of history for our local residents. Did you know that here, in our bustling little town of North Port, we have a historical landmark that continues to educate researchers about the people and animals that inhabited this area as long as 5000 years ago.
Little Salt Spring resulted from a sinkhole which occured thousands of years ago... it is 200 feet deep and it contains human remains of 100's of Indians that used the land as a burial ground. The salt content of the water has perfectly...
