Have a 2001 BMW convertible. The top does not appear to be damaged. However, after it rains, the trunk and the inside floor are full of water. How is the water getting into the car?
I had a friend who covered the inside with stripes of toilet paper (cheaper than rolls of paper towels).
Drying Tip:
I once had 4" of water inside my car (rained faster than parking lot drains could handle). I bailed it out to 1/2", then took it to a DIY car wash and got 95% of the water out quickly, using their shop-vacuums. Helped slurp the carpet down to damp.
Left it open in the sunlight for 1/2 day (no rain forecast!) to get to 99%, then put down many bags of cheap rice to absorb the last bit. (But I had removable carpet, so it was feasible to get all the rice out).
Best to have someone who is familiar with the installation inspect and repair it for you. It may be a small tear or a fatigued area that is seeping. Not uncommon to have to replace the softop when this happens.
I have a similar issue, but water is coming in from my passenger side tail light. Those lights can become lose overtime. There are only 3 nuts holding them in and when they are taken off the inside of the trunk is 100% exposed. Maybe start there.
