Drove one for a few days. Car is stock with the exception of a performance chip. Absolute rocket ship, the torque is amazing and I saw as high as 40 mpg @ 80 mph. One of the most impressive cars I have ever driven.

After a few 30-100 runs your neck starts to get sore from the pull of that motor! Car has a nice rumble to it (it is diesel) and I liked it better than both my past M3's! The best part is the car is so non-descript that it doesn't attract the wrong attention.

Best part is that it qualifies as a ultra low emission vehicle so you can buy a HOV sticker for $5 and use the HOV lanes 24/7 with no penalty just like a Prius owner.

Unfortunately, it won't make its way into the F30. . The 335d indeed is a superb car.

I've heard this before... but why not? It is an incredible car.

Probably because the F30 328i gets something like 24-26/34 which is somewhat close to the figures of the E90 335d (23-24/36). I'm hoping BMW at least offers a 4-pot motor or some small displacement diesel engine in the near future.

I agree, I have driven one and it was quite a rush. Certainly the best of all worlds with little compromise. I would love to own one someday.

I think the 335d's with the Evolve tune produces something like 330whp and 490wtq. Keep in mind these figures are all at the wheels so we're looking at approximately 388hp and 570tq at the crank.

I saw quite a few of these on the lot just 3 months ago, I guess the diesels weren't selling as much. You can bargain hard and get at least 15% off sticker and $3500 eco credit. These cars are amazing.
I test drove the 320d while on vacation overseas and was quite surprise on how smooth and quiet the diesel engine was on this smaller engine.

Yeah local dealer still shows 8 new leftover 2011's in inventory!

2 things hurt the car, high diesel cost and plentiful availability of gas 328s for way less money. The new 328 gets almost the same mileage without the diesel headache.

The last one I looked at had a Msrp of 54k and the dealer had it advertised for 44k....sold in less than a week.

There goes the warranty once modified. You have to ask yourself if you are feeling Lucky voiding the powertrain warranty on a complex BMW?

Well, Are you feeling lucky?

How much more than the regular 335i? Doubt the diesel premium is worth it, especially after paying another $.20-.30 more a gallon over premium.
