Um, well I don't really venture to too many bars around here, so I'm sure it will be the same for you as it is for me lol...
It hasn't been too bad, plenty of outdoor activities. I play on an indoor soccer team in Boise, theres tons of winter sports. Always various pick up games at Anne Morrison park (volleyball, soccer, etc) Lets see, they have rock climbing gyms, hiking, etc

So basically you'll either get into outdoor sports or be playing a ton of Xbox/PS3...Not sure what other options are out there. The mall is decent, theres good movie theaters etc.
What part of California are you coming from?

Into skateboarding? There is a large board park downtown.

Basketball, I'll have to ask around and get back to you. I'm sure they have pick up games at anne morrison. I'm pretty sure there are a couple leagues. But i'm betting if i look around there will be some indoor courts you could play at when its cold.

The Venue is completely alcohol free. I think they have events there and of course concerts.

Basketball is best at the Boise State rec. Pick up games go from noon to 2, and then from 6 to 9 every day.
