We are relocating from Minnesota to Idaho in June 2012. Does anyone know about the quality of The Birches At Brandts Landing, 16390 Franklin Blvd, Nampa, ID 83687? Do you have any rental recommendations for apartments that allows a small dog?

I appreciate any advice you can give me.

If I were you, I would live in Meridian or northwest Boise. Nampa has more crime and can be a little bit lower class...Anywhere besides the trendy areas in Boise will run you about 750-1000 for a nice 2 bedroom apartment

When they first opened I would've recommended them but now they seem like several other apartment complexes that let everyone in the door. I watched it happen at a complex I used to live in and it is sad when an affordable and well maintained place is ruined by idiots who are lazy and trash the place.

The Birches is an Incredible complex. Especially if you enjoy the golfing culture. Please don't let people from Ada County ( Meridian, Boise ) tell you otherwise. They don't get out there very often.

Don't know what you are on about. I live in Meridian but work in Nampa and regularly run transport around town as part of my job. So even though I don't live there I spend almost as much time in and around Nampa as someone who lives there.

The Birches aren't too bad, but I would check out Avondale. They are brand new fourplexes located the next mile down from The Birches. These fourplexes are next to College of Western Idaho. That area is all newer homes and you will be close to the freeway and walmart. This is the property management company website for these rentals - they are advertising them at $695/mo, but there maybe some specials going on:

I see my link didn't work like I wanted - the fourplexes are located on Investor Loop and Integra Street in Nampa

Thank you all for your opinions. I can't wait until June when I move to Idaho.

I would call Tammi at Idaho Management. They are great to work with and treat you respectfully. 208-287-0404.

I've been checking out rental prices for houses on craigslist and zillow for the Bosie area since my wife and I may be moving there in June or July. I'm probably going to go to Boise St and I've been noticing a lot of decent priced housing in Nampa for a 3 bed, 2 bath house; how is the drive between Nampa and Boise? I'm not sure if I'd be on campus 5 days a week or not but my truck only gets about 16-17 miles/gal. We would like to live in Meridian, or the outer parts of Boise but I'm not as much in those two as I am Nampa. I'm not opposed to living in Nampa, we would really like something a little closer to Boise St.
