it seems to have enough shopping in town and any other items one needs can easily be found on eagle rd in meridian, anything emmett lacks that impacts your living in emmett?

what are the pros and cons of living in emmett.

what are real estate taxes like in emmett for residential real estate?

The only thing negative that I have heard is that Emmett is a tight knit community. Even more so than Boise is, so might be difficult to make friends.

is this tight knit community feel a result of:

religion?, or a small town where everyone grew up together?, or are outsiders not wanted in your opinion?

thanks for your input.

From talking to a couple of people that I know grew up in the area it's a little bit of religion (LDS) and small town where everyone grew up together.

I emailed a friend whose husband grew up in Emmett--his whole family is still there. She lived there for four months. I'll send you a pm with her full response, but, in a nutshell, she said that Emmett is a small, friendly community. It's a slower pace which could be boring for some, but those who live there find it peaceful. Everyone knows everyone else, in a friendly way. Some employers have left in recent years, but the orchards remain a big part of the community. The commute, once you leave Eagle, is pretty and peaceful and can be a source of "decompressing" for those who work in Boise or Meridian and commute to Emmett. Note update: boiseidaho, you've elected not to receive private messages so if you want me to email you the full description of Emmett from my friend, please message me or find my email on my profile and I'll send it to you. Good luck!
