Boise did not make the list of top 100 places to live in money mag. How can this charming beautiful city, filled with all you nice folks not be listed. They listed places like Pflugerville Tx (lived there YUCK), and Chandler AZ (are you kidding me?) but for some reason, your awesome city missed the top 100. http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/best-places/
This is a list of best small cities. Not sure what their cut off is for small city size, as there were a few that have larger populations than Boise. Meridian did make the list. Kind of a different list, if you ask me!
was listed past two years...what did you guys do to the place?
Took away the job prospects. Boise is a fantastic place to live if you have a job, terrible place to live if you are looking for a job. I've lived all over the country and Boise by far was my favorite town to live in. Hope to be back in 20 years after I retire.

Grmmi66, I know you are in sales....did you try RC Willys? They hired me on the spot. I was also able to get a job a Mybullfrog.com, a Verizon Premium cell phone retailer. A little below my age group (Im 44 and my coworkers were 21-30) but I made about 3500 a month..not much but it allowed me to live good in Boise. The bad winter back in 2010 caused me to do a REALLY dumb thing...I moved to phoenix. Man do I regret that move more than any move I have ever made in my adult life. I know you moved to phoenix for jobs, but honestly I found it harder HERE (Phoenix) to find a job. I guess it depends on what type of sales you are looking for.

I've had more interviews in 2 weeks in Phoenix than I did in 4 months in Boise. About the only way I was going to land a new sales job in Boise was to become LDS. Not bitter, it is what it is. So for now Boise will be a vacation spot and number one on my short list of places to retire to in 20 years.

Apparently Phoenix is the place to be, as far as the West goes. A friend just got a advertising job that he claims starts at 44,000 plus commission. They hired him on the spot and he doesn't even have a degree. I tried to apply for a job in Boise and jobs that paid $30,000 required college degrees. The cost of living between Boise and Phoenix isn't that different.
