I'm talking about the people that say live in Columbia village or near HWY 21 and Micron. Do they just drive downtown or is there shopping nearby for basic stuff such as groceries? What about dining in the area?
Albertsons on the corner of 21 and Federal Way. Bown Crossing for some cool restaurants and stores. Fred Meyer and Home Depot on Federal Way. The Outlet Mall if you're dull. And you're still pretty close to downtown anyway.
There is a nice shopping center on Federal Way with many useful stores and fast food restaurants. Fred Meyer, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Home Depot, Zamzows (local pet and gardening store). Walgreens, Banks, beauty shop, nail salon. More is going in. At the bottom of the hill at Park Center and Apple is another Albertsons, Rite Aid, Hastings (music and movies) Tuesday Morning, Gordmans, Hallmark, Dollar Store, a bunch of small stores and businesses. The Outlet Mall has Eddie Bauer, Bass, Rebook, Pendleton and a few others stores. It's not a waste of time, I shop there all the time, it has never been full. To me Bown is useless. It's new and pretty with a handful of overpriced shops and restaurants. I have no reason to go there. ParkCenter Blvd has some better dining options, RedRobbin Barbacoa, The Griddle. Lastly is Broadway that heads downtown has lots of various stores and busineses and a few restaurants.

Thanks! I'm an Idaho native, but spent more time up around Moscow and down around Richfield (small). Not so much in Boise where we may move eventually.
