Used ABF. You can use a portion of a freight truck, I needed 13 feet for my 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. I sold ALOT though and only took what would be cost prohibited to replace, or, items that I LOVED and/or had sentimental value. They will drop off the truck (minus the cab), you load it, then call them for p/u. You can have them store the truck too, and pay a monthly fee, then call them when you are ready for delivery.
CA to ID took 3 days, they stored it for me one month at a rate of about $200 per month. Cost of truck was less than $1,343 and I paid guys to load it in CA, and paid to have it unloaded here. Used Crosstown Movers to unload here, was under $100 but I gave them a good tip because they worked hard and fast and were wonderful!
Honestly, if I had to do it again, I would have sold more prior to the move. I think I did well on watching the costs, but on unpacking, I realized I really didn't need some things I paid to move.
My daughter moved here in May, and used Relocube. Cost her almost as much, but I think that was due to the time of the move.
Hi Boisebound, can I ask you what month you moved?
Am guessing your daughter moved in the summer time, peak rates?
Thanks for the tip on ABF.
I moved the end of Feb., daughter moved early May.
