Looking to open up a new business, relocating to Eagle. Would like to et some suggestions on what you feel that Eagle or the Boise area needs and what you would like to see open up?? Thank you
I recently drove up there with my family last month and loved it.. I was hoping to get out of the restaurant business. No family or no friends in idaho.. were looking to put our roots down and raise our family and be there as long as possible.. thank you for the response. I have soo many ideas but can't do them all..
Restaurant competition is TOUGH here in the area because there are so many options. No shortage of places to go out to eat, although many of them are the dime-a-dozen variety. I would say more competition in the Cable, Auto or Motorcycle industry would be a good thing though (especially cable, someone needs to make life miserable for Cable One).
Well, we are certainly lacking in various ethnic cuisines. The food scene here isn't particularly progressive. If the idea of going back towards that scene is still feasible, I can start giving examples.

I, and many, miss a good Korean restaurant here. There was an excellent one downtown which closed a few, maybe 5 years ago, and there has been a void since then.
That restaurant was always busy and obviously Boiseans loved Korean fare, so if someone wants to open a new Korean restaurant, downtown preferably, please do it

There were a couple Korean options beyond the downtown place closing. Koreana Grill was on Overland, but that didn't last long at all. And there was a place in the Shopko shopping center on Milwaukee/Fairview called Kim's that you wouldn't have known was Korean until you went in there and looked at the menu. You can get some homemade stuff at the two local Korean markets here, but it just doesn't compare to getting the restaurant experience.
Korean BBQ has exploded in popularity over the past maybe three years. I think it could succeed here if people actually knew about it or started to know about it. I wouldn't want it to have the look and feel of a Tucanos, but the success of Tucanos makes me think people could go for K-BBQ. No way I would put it in Eagle though, or any ethnic restaurant for that matter (though that Russian cafe seems to be hanging in there). Downtown, the Bench, or just somewhere near BSU to attract the foreign students. While there aren't that many here, the Koreans do have a viable presence with their churches and markets, and you could think you'd be able to track down one local entrepreneur among them who was willing to get involved in starting one up.
