More homeless, graffiti, dirtier, etc. we did a little bike riding along the river in Colorado Springs last summer and it wasn’t nearly as clean as the Greenbelt.

Boise has a lot of cultural activities going on. As the state's capital, it's home to many of the state's official groups such as the Idaho Historical Center and similar cultural stuff.

Boise, unlike Colo Spgs, is a regional anchor. Colo Spgs will always live in the shadow of Denver. Boise is the biggest thing happening in its region and will be the recipient of growth and focus that comes with that position.

Access to outdoor recreation in Boise will be similar to Colo Spgs. Boise will have better water access and recreation. Boise State is also a significant feature of city. This brings with it a number of positive attributes that the city benefits from. I haven't spent a lot of time in the city, but have been on its green belt and visited a few museums. Its a pleasant place to be.

Boise metro are is comparable to Colo Spgs metro in size and growth rates, however, Boise is surrounded by a lot of separate municipalities whereas Colo Spgs is a large incorporated entity. I could see some potential conflicts with neighbors as Boise continues to add population. But this also could make the actual city become a more cultural center to the region.

IMO, Boise is just starting to stretch its legs as a cultural and arts center. While most of the area around it has been socially and politically conservative, and is still much so still today, the city has or is adding numerous features to make it stand out and differentiate itself. I would say that while some cultural things have been around a while, most of the change that has been occurring has started heavily during this century so it does not have a long track record with it. However, I think it holds potential to continue that trend.

You would have to see if all of these things align with your families wants and needs.

Anything else you feel I should know, please enlighten!
Boise is culturally rich and there is an impressive arts scene including an art museum and several galleries downtown. The fine arts are well represented too. The main library is downtown as well as several new branches throughout the city. There are some great arts programs for children as well.

What kind of Olympic training center are you referring to? There are several Olympians who live in Boise and one is opening up a few training/fitness centers. Boise is an active and athletic city, I think you would be pleased.

It's a tough decision. Just trying to make the right choice for the family and not be selfish.
Thanks for the information.

I know. Hands down Boise has COS beat in terms of outdoor activities, it's just the kid/school/accessibility I'm contemplating. Head first is how I want to jump into Boise, it's not just me though my better half needs to calculate.
