it all depends. do you mean fantasy? or things like the bourne series? if fantasy, read the dark elf series by r.a. salvatore. or read the bourne series. great books imho.

"The Call of the Wild" by Jack London. Written about 100 years ago, but very realistic, as Jack London lived in the Yukon and in Alaska himself for a while.
