I just got through reading Stranger in a Strange Land and really enjoyed it. I would like to know what others think about the book and also suggestions on similar books.

I enjoyed it until the end. I hated the ending, it pretty much ruined the book for me.

I read it in high school and really enjoyed it; had never read Heinlein before. It was sort of required reading for our age group just before college. I recall that Heinlein coined the phrase "grok." A real look into the future from nearly 50 years ago.

My dad was a huge sci-fi fan and turned me on to this book when I was probably too young to appreciate it (11 or 12.) I think I reread it in high school, the ending did not satisfy me either.
Another interesting Heinlein book: Farnum's Freehold.

I was very much taken with it when I read it - but that was a million years ago when I was about 18 or 19. It's a fun book, but very much a product of its era, I think.

Not sure what you mean in terms of other books like it. Have you read other Heinlein?
