I need to purchase some textbooks for school and wonder if anyone knows if there would be a huge difference between these books?

Besides $150.00??

I love a good puzzle, but I couldn't find anything on the Interwebz, like a list of differences or something like that. There's nothing noted in the blurb on Amazon, I guess, right? (I think I saw that the 6th edition comes with a CD, but I don't know if that's a difference from the 5th, or if that's the only difference anyway.)

I did, however, find a bunch of free downloads of the 6th edition. I don't know if many (or any) are truly free (or legal) but... maybe it's worth looking into?

Yes, I would do a free download. They make new editions to make people think they would be missing something and of course to make more money. I can get a used 5th edition for $25 and the 6th edition is $175, its crazy how much they charge.

In a regular fiction book, a further edition is just a new printing. In textbooks, it can mean significant changes.

Go to the publisher's webpage here:

Psychology - Human Development: A Life-Span View ,6thEdition -9781111834111 - John C. Cavanaugh - Cengage Learning

and look at the stated changes in the 6th edition.

The changes don't look huge, but it does look as though there added materials in chapters.
