I enjoy tuning into a local music station when I read in the evenings. Is this unusual?

I never listen to the radio, mainly because I can't stand the commercials and the dribbling on of the dj's.

I read in silence.

I read in silence when it is late at night.

During the day I have no choice but to listen to background noise while I read... someone always has the tv on here.

No radio, ever! I just can't seem to sing and read at the same time.

I read in silence. If the TV is on and I just want to catch a chapter or two, I mute the TV.

If you call psychotic dogs barking incessantly "background music," then, yes, I do.

Stars of the Lid is about all I can handle while reading. Anything more noticeable either becomes distracting or gets completely tuned out.

Sometimes I would rather hear dogs barking than the crap my brother watches on tv. I find it annoying trying to read to laugh tracks, especially when he laughs right along with them.
Dogs would sound nicer.
