Looking for books that deal with HOW and WHAT programs Roosevelt and Hitler used, put in place, got passed etc to get their respective countries out of the depression...
To understand Roosevelt's actions and why the Depresssion lasted until 1939, this is an excellent start. The author treats the causes. Roosevelt's actions prolonged the Great Depression unti the beginning of American rearmament. The second book I've listed is by former president Herbert Hoover; he examines Roosevelt's actions and motives.
I have yet to find an honest description of the programs of National Socialist Germany. Victors write history books.
Definitely read The Forgotten Man by Amity Schlaes.
Too many sources only praise FDR's New Deal, but her book shows all the negatives. A necessary read for balanced research.
