No, I didn't, but wish I did. But I have seen a documentary on P.T. Barnum who brought so many human-oddities to American circuses such as the Man with Two Heads, etc.

Had Ripley still been alive today, he would most likely have added this recent oddity:

A 12 year old girl who plunged through a roof and down an elevator shaft at the five-story Omaha rooming house says she won't be climbing on rooftops looking for pigeons anymore. "I know I am a lucky person,"said Tracy Ann Walters. "I have to thank the Lord." District fire chief Gene O'Loughlin says the girl could have been killed but only suffered minor bruises. He says that it is because her fall was cushioned by a twelve-inch-deep pile of pigeon droppings at the base of the elevator shaft.

I had a similar book when I was a kid, "Stranger than Science", by Frank Edwards. It used to scare the hell out of me.

German art collector Rik Reinking paid the equivalent of about $138,000 for a resplendent complex drawing by Belgian artist Wim Delvoye but it was one created in ink on the skin of the still-alive tattoo parlor manager Tim Steiner--to be delivered only upon Steiner's death, when his skin will be displayed in Reinking's collection. The deal also requires that in the meantime Steiner personally showcase his back at galleries 3 times a year.

China's public park restrooms had for years suffered toilet-paper theft by local residents who raid dispensers for their own homes, but the government fought back with technology. At Beijing's popular Temple of Heaven Park, dispensers now have facial-recognition scanners beside the six toilets with (pre-cut paper about 24 inches long) issued only to users who pose for a picture. Just one slug of paper can be dispensed to the same face in a 9 minute period.
