Yes, in my experience, men are much, much more likely to read nonfiction than women.
I can't fill out your poll, though, because these days I'm not sure if I prefer fiction or non. I used to only read novels, but nonfiction draws me more all the time.
I voted "Man who likes non-fiction more" but I'm not sure I'd really say that. I certainly read more non-fiction, but I might prefer to say that I like both equally, in their own way. Given the best example of fiction vs. the best example on non-fiction...hmmm...hard for me to choose. I've read some fiction that I had a real hard time putting down. I'd give up practically everything else for the day and just finish that damn book. By that standard, I like fiction more. But given a choice between a great looking novel and an intriguing non-fiction book, I would probably choose the non-fiction.
Ultimately, my favorite would be a "page-turner" type of novel that incorporates lots non-fiction (esp. cutting edge science and deep philosophical analysis). Imagine someone like Dan Brown with a more "literary" flair, along with some intensely erotic elements and, instead of political conspiracy-theory stuff, the focus was on some real-life mind-boggling philosophical topics with a bunch of cutting-edge science to back up (or defeat) the philosophical positions taken by the various characters. And suppose all of this could be accomplished with well-rounded characters who don't frequently slip into the explanatory "lecture" mode that is so often found in sci-fi. That would be my favorite book. Actually, that is exactly the book I'm trying to write! I'm on page two.

I'm female. I probably read more fiction, but I will drop any novel in the world for a new book on one of the nonfiction subjects which deeply interests me.
I read a lot of non-fiction for work, and I just have a really hard time getting into non-fiction books on my own time, even topics I'm passionate about. And I keep buying them! But I'm too exhausted at the end of the day to read them. So fiction is what I read in my spare time, but I can definitely see myself getting back into non-fiction for fun the day I retire!
So I guess my answer is, one thing is what a person is interested in, another is what they have time and energy for.
