One point that has always stuck with me was he was just too young to go into WWII or had a legitimate deferment
Anyway he said that he got a great college education because there were so few men in college...before WWII most young women didn’t go to college
He felt that made a decided positive difference vs going afterwards when so many guys were using the GI Bill
