The Dark Tower series. Unlike any other King work, and totally engrossing.

I think the Dark Tower series is probably my favorite, too. The Talisman is a close second (Wolf!! Here and Now!). It's neat how they're intertwined.

Stephen King's books have two factors that keep me reading:

The WHN factor - What Happens Next

The TYSE factor - Takes You Somewhere Else.

Good stuff.

I find SK very interesting...

His OLD stuff (Running Man) seems to me more of a study in human nature than horror/thriller. Even if it's slightly (or more!) cheezy, it leaves you thinking.

Didn't like Christine, Cujo era stuff, though Carrie made a FANTASTIC movie.

The Stand is one of my all time favorite books. LOVE IT, read it every few years. Movie sucked. Same with the Tommyknockers, but don't think there was a movie.

His new stuff... not too into. Kingdom Hospital mini-series...can't decide if I like it or not (definately cheezy!!), but get sucked into it whenever it's on!!

I love how he mixes sick humor into the horror.

Either his The Body (which became Stand By Me) or Shawshank Redemption.
As much as I liked the movie of Shawshank, I especially enjoyed the original written version.

Default The Dead Zone

I think it's his most human book, though I also liked "The Stand."

His best novels are 'Salem's Lot and The Stand. Both are modern American classics. In fact, 'Salem's Lot is probably the best vampire story ever done.

I like the Talisman, and a story titled "The Long Walk". That was in a book that had 4 stories in it-I don't remember if it was written under King or his fake name of Richard Bachman.
