Does anyone have any information regarding residential housing at the YMCA on Huntington Ave? I will be attending Northeastern in the fall (like two days, actually), and I originally planned on living at a house on Tremont St., but things changed, and I am now living in a University owned section of the YMCA. This sounds incredibly weird, and I have no idea what to expect. Can anyone provide ANY information for me? Does anyone have any basic info about this YMCA? (hows the gym, etc.)...

Thanks in advance.

I never stayed overnight at the Y but was a member there for many years. It's ok. The building is a little old but it's built of real stuff that will last for centuries. I think the gym is a little smelly but compared to the modern just built yesterday chains down here in DFW, it's really no big deal. Personally I think you'll do just fine at the Y. Nice bunch of people there. I might even recommend it to a budget traveler. The location is great - right next to NEU. And all the amenities of the city are right at your front doorstep. The neighborhood is no less than fabulous, you'll love it. Symphony Sushi, Cappys 2, Green Line - Hell yeah dude - you should be fine. In fact, plan on living large.
