I am a recent accounting and economic grad with a good GPA, top of my class, and some experience. I was wondering how the job market was in and around Boston for accounting/finance majors.

Also, my wife is Brazilian. She has trouble making American friends because of cultural differences and attitudes. I've heard that Boston has a large Brazilian population, and some of the towns surrounding it. Is this population young, around 18-26? Can someone describe it.

I know the sizable Brazilian population around Framingham has a fairly young component. I think a good portion of the second generation is of high school/college age with a smattering having kids of their own.

Would Cape Verdeans do as well, considering the cultural similarities?

Not sure. Brasil has a unique culture and I am not real familiar with Cape Verde.

No.

That island was a french colony. Brazil was a Portuguese colony. The people like here are in Everett and Somerville. Part of Chelsea maybe. Framinham is too far away.

How far is Framingham from Boston? Barnstable, Falmouth, and Somerville also have large Brazilian populations.

I don't think Framingham is too far, especially since you could take the train from there. BUT, I think it might be more than just a language issue involved? I guess you know that Massachusetts has a fairly large population that can speak Portuguese, but as far as your wife making connections, I'd think it would depend on what she has in common with them, in other respects.
