This is the 2nd time I got this ticket and I'm so confused. I was parked on Beacon street right by Kenmore Square and am clearly at a metered spot. There are 0 signs that indicate this spot turns into resident parking after a certain hour and I can clearly see where the resident parking spots begin (up ahead)......has anyone ever heard of getting a $40 resident parking fine for being parked in a metered spot???? I'm considering fighting this, but trying to assess if I've done anything wrong that I'm not aware of.

Figuring out the parking rules in BOS is very confusing. I had the car towed twice despite really trying to follow the rules. You should go down to the place you got the ticket, look again at the signage and see if you missed something or there is good reason why you might have not noticed. If so, take photos and go show the judge. The ticketing officer might not even bother to show up in which case your case could get dismissed outright. Otherwise, if you think you can show your mistake was justifiable, go for it. MAny people just thing it ain't worth the time.

I just recently got socked with a $170 fine for an improper turn. From one block to the next in Dallas there is no consistency about lights, lanes, etc. I totally do not flaunt traffic laws - I don't speed, tailgate, anything. I actually just made a mistake. Just don't know if it's worth fighting about.

Compared to me, your citation is a bargain.

I think citations in Dallas are far higher since you cant get Texans to pay taxes, so this is how they collect their revenue.

It may be one of those spots that can be resident parking with a sticker or a metered space for the rest of us.

Go back to the spot where this went down. Double check the signage, document your case with pictures showing signs or the lack thereof, and make sure there are no errors on the ticket - this could invalidate it right off the bat. Submit an appeal request and wait. I have contested two tickets, one in Boston and one in Cambridge, and I won both times. Good luck!
