In 2016 we elected to legalize and sell Marijuana legally to tax paying voting public.

4 years later there is not ONE shop to do so in Boston, MA. The states capital.
Will you re elect these clowns
probably

edit - The Orange line is on it's 3rd consecutive day of 12 minute plus delays.

But Charli Baker s just so damn handsome!

"We want to do this right!"

33 stores after 3+ years. aka one store every 35 days or so. Laughable if it werent kind of eerie.

I mean they couldn't possibly be benefiting and selling out to the highest bidder right? That would be crazy

There's a shop approximately 1000 feet from the Boston line. It's not like you have to go to Western MA.

I guess I'm missing your point too. What is your point? Is this a Boston/Marty/city council thing?

What does "benefiting and selling out to the highest bidder" mean when there isn't a recreational shop yet? Who is benefiting?

They are turning it into a highest bidder situation. When only the rich and well padded friends can play. This is not real free market. It is a high cost of entry where only the very well funded can play Similar to the arbitrary liquor license nonsense that we gripe about. There is not one shop yet due to lack of interest. It is due to red tape. and usually that red tape means ...pay up.
Not a fair market

GeePee is right-it's just a terrible broken structure meant to minimize weed and make it expensive and boutique. No interest in minimizing the black market or creating robust tax revenue. No interest in educating the public about marijuana, no interest in normalizing marijuana, no real interest in economically empowering minority communities, no interest in expunging records.

Just half-assed, corrupt and shameful all around.

They gave lip service to this and then put up ridiculous barriers to entry.

Thats most things in Mass. though. The minority population is not very economically empowered relative to similar states due to the ridiculous barriers to enter pretty much anything legitimate or profitable so Ithink most knew that how that was gonna break...
