And on a similar note, who else feels like dropkicking one of those cancel rent clowns?

Right about now I am glad I had chosen the stock market over being a landlord as my non-W2 income source.

Same. Why should I be upset with my property tax, and why am I blaming cancel rent/student loan advocates?

Are you an advocate of cancelling rent and student loans?

I think education should be free. Even after having had to pay off my student loans myself, I'm fine with canceling it for others because its for our common, greater good, and it gives people who otherwise might not have those opportunities due to financial constraints an opportunity to move upward. Education is also only going to become more required to be competitive in the global workforce.

Rent's a little tougher as I see both tenant and landlord as responsible for managing finances such that they can absorb financial emergencies like job loss and vacancy/non-payment. However, I also recognize that since this was a government-mandated closure, and an extended one at that, it was really beyond the fault of either landlord or tenant, so we should either:

a) cancel rent and offer some reparations to landlords who are taking the losses, or
b) pay the rent (at least partially) for tenants during the shutdown.

Specifics? Are you really that dense, or just pretending?

Education should be free with some fine print - if you study something useful, score high enough on entrance exams and maintain high GPA then by all means, it's free. But if you want to party and smoke weed for for six years while getting your master's in early silent black and white eastern european pornography history you'll need to pay up.
