Me too for the most part. I have a reusable water bottle that comes with me everywhere I go. I fill it from the tap at home (mine or anyone else's), the water cooler at work (bottled), and water fountains (generally tap/municipal) almost anywhere I go in public.

How much do you trust the treatment plants?

My tap water is just fine, no filter needed even.

This question actually scares me. Are there so many out there blowing through cases of Poland Spring or Dasani single-use bottles in Boston?

Quabbin is one of the best water sources in the country. So good they don’t even have to filter it. Nothing to worry there.

We recently had the privilege of drinking Boston tap water and the general consensus was that it was very “tasty” for municipal water, especially compared to other city tap water I’ve sampled.

Boston tap water was a delight to drink, and we just refilled our reusable water bottles with the tap water to drink as needed when out and about. I prefer drinking tap over any store bought water if safe, given you don’t know how long the store water had been sitting in those plastic bottles plastic, and how much chemical leached from it as a consequence.

I agree, Boston/MWRA water beats pretty much any bottled water you would buy.

Chronicle has done several shows on the Quabbin and once did a great episode on management of the water supply. Very impressive. I wasn't able to track that episode down, but this video is also good. These people aren't the typical Mass state government patronage hacks.
