Northeastern University student injured in fall from second-floor window

https://whdh.com/news/northeastern-u...-floor-window/

"A Northeastern University student was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Saturday night after falling from a second-floor window in Boston.

Officers responding to a 7:30 p.m. report of a woman who fell from a home at the intersection of Judge and Iroquois streets found the woman suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to Boston police.

Neighbors say there was a party going on at the home at the time of the incident."

Sadly it's not the first time I've heard of a college student falling out a window. Always alcohol involved.

I really feel for this student. I wouldn't say this is an uncommon occurrence though.

I remember way back when I was in college my dorm room window one year overlooked the back entrance to the dorm. One night a student (under the influence of drugs) jumped off one of the balconies several floors up and landed on the cement overhang above the back entrance. He was in the hospital for a while after that.

Only one update so far. On April 4 from NBC Boston: She's still "alive." I hope we hear good news soon.

The other local stations had no update.

I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often.

When i was in school in that same general area, we would frequently have parties on the rooftops in the Back Bay and surrounding communities. Lots of drunk college kids standing feet away from the edge 4 stories up.

CoB has since passed some kind of roof deck ordinance requiring permits etc and that has probably mitigated some of those issues.

That may be so. But according to my child who attended BU, the MIT frats (close to the BU campus) were by far the wildest.
