Isn't this overlooking of a town a good thing for the working class demographic that is tired of being priced out, though?

If enough people keep running around talking up a town to make it sound more desirable, it's going to eventually draw in more people to drive up the market and price out the working class.

Sometimes it's better to take the dismissal with a smile and a nod.

You're right in that yes working class people should be happy Framingham is still affordable (if it even is...? I don't know what prices are like there, I'll look later). But I think what is interesting is why hasn't gentrified or become more expensive the way so many other places have. I have never heard of Framingham as being a bad place to live or have much crime but it has never been an attractive place for working professionals with families to live. And that's ok.
