NJ is fantastic. CT is good, but sometimes posts will get deleted if a mod doesn't agree with it. It got better recently though.

It does matter, but in most circumstances there would be additional explanation given. If someone took 16 years to get a degree because they were struggling with paying for it themselves while also supporting their parents it would be different than if they were just taking it easy on their parent's dime.

In a lot of public service jobs, though, the check is 'accredited degree' and the details don't make as much difference.
