I feel like this is the year the TD Garden will see double the titles. Bruins just set the all time record for wins in a single season and Celtics have the 2nd best record in the NBA and is defending Eastern Conference Champions. I am certain we will have double the duck boat parades this year

I love your optimism. Objectively, it's certainly more possible than it has been in a long time. But the cynic in me is still skeptical. Both teams can do it, but so much needs to go right for it to happen for one team (let alone too). I worry a bit more about the Celtics. I don't love them in 7 games against a Milwaukee team with home court advantage. The Bucks look more complete than they did last year. I worry less about the Sixers, but they're still a big threat. The C's have lost ugly against teams they should have beaten, so I hope they send a message in the first round. Otherwise I have questions about their makeup.

The Bruins have blown through the NHL this year. Theoretically, they should have an easier time. My only major concern is whether there will be a hangover from the regular season accomplishments. Last time a New England team broke all the regular season records, it ended poorly in the championship (2007 Pats). There's no connection, but as a fan, that still lives rent free in my head.

As someone who goes 3/4 for Boston/NE teams, the Bruins are my ultimate favorite. I love them and love witnessing them succeed each and every year. Breaking records. Hitting the history books. 10/10. I feel the B's can pull through.

Celtics im 50/50 on them even making the NBA Finals.

Well, it would be rather interesting even for Bostonian to witnes the Bruins and Celtics *duel* for a championship. Either the Celtics play on ice, or the Bruins on parquet.

Unlike 2019 when the Bruins lucked out due to power teams in their conference (Tampa and Toronto?) getting upset in early rounds, and thus waltzed to the Final before getting upset in game 7...on home ice! by inferior St. Louis, this year would very tough to reach the Stanley Cup Final (not Finals).

If no major upsets, they'd need to maybe knock out a Toronto, Tampa Bay, Rangers or Devils or Carolina, then maybe a solid Colorado or Vegas in the Final. They'd at least play Pittsburgh, Buffalo or Florida in round one, a bit easier? Haven't checked the standings recently.

St. Louis was much easier an opponent in 2019, I think, than Colorado (defending champs) or Vegas will provide.

It'll be so impressive with this probable harder competition this year vs. 2019.

I'm cringing with the title of this thread. If they both win, it would be a dual championship for Boston. And no, they won't be dueling each other for the championship because they play different sports!

2018 (Red Sox and Patriots)? Technically, the Super Bowl was in Feb. 2019, but it was the 2018 season and only a couple of months after the Sox World Series win. Same thing in 2004 (sox won the Super Bowl in Feb 2004, Sox won in October 2004, and then the Pats won again in Feb 2005) though I believe you're under 30 which probably means you have little memory of that one (if you were even born). The Sox/Celtics won about 7 months apart in 2007/8 (and the Patriots had that brutal SB loss in between) which is still a while ago if you're under 30. But I don't think the C's and B's have ever done it.

Oh duh. 2004 and 2018 both had two championships within 4 months.

Unfortunately, im not a Sox fan so it slipped my mind. I probably shouldn't publicly announce that on here and keep pretending I am for good karma on sub-Boston haha.
