You seem to be in my area the best pizza I have had in the area is in Arlington it's called prep kitchen. I came across it by accident it's hard to tell it's there because of the sign. Some days they are only open from 4 to 830 pm. The pizza is one of the best I ever had. They have one with multiple cheeses but I like the pizza with only mozzarella on it.

Anyone that is near Arlington that pizza place is well worth it.

Better check the hours when open because they don't do regular hours and are closed Sunday and Monday.

We have been to Polcari recently. The pizza is very good. Light crust, blistered charred top, tasty sauce. The best i have had for a long time. The Ottos that have opened in other places, like Andover - Not even close to the original at Harvard Square. Is that Otto still open?
Wicked Cheesy in Tewksbury is good.

I thought Otto was a Portland ME based place. At least originally. No?

Yes, the original was in Portland (it even says "Portland, Maine" in their logo). Harvard Square may be the original Boston area location.

The first time I tasted was at the Hravard Squre place, next to the Bookstore. No place to sit, you just stand and eat by the slice. It was excellent.

Newer satellite locations aren't going to be quite the same as a result.
I don't think you're an outlier, I think this is a widely held belief (particularly for wood fired pizza). I think it's Frank Pepe's that brags about the age of their oven at the original location and how it has an outsized impact on the flavor.

This place is outstanding. It does more than just pizza. The only issue is parking, but it does takeout.

Ya I want to try the chicken Parm but it usually comes with pasta which I don't want but I asked owner he said he would sell just the sandwich if I want I don't do sauce on my pasta only butter garlic and basil . The parking is a challenge even just to make an order or takeout.

What I had last night, can never go wrong with that one. I'm not going to pretend it's equal to a good legit thin crust. I'll have to be in the mood for a SSBP (probably once a month max), but when so nothing hits the spot like it (and an ice cold beer is a must).

What is the parking challenge exactly? I might want to take my husband there for his birthday next week.
