I am just trying to figure out what area in walking distance to the T, any line color (not the commuter line) will do, that is the safest and quietest and provides the most sq. foot per $.

Ideally, I would like to get to Northeastern law school under an hour. I am looking for 1 bedroom apt or condo with very soundproof construction. I am a light sleeper and don't like to hear someone above me or right next door to me (nightmares from undergraduate).

I have made a post about Quincy, but truth be told, I am not sure if that is the optimal place, given the safest/quietest and most sq foot for my $ request.
Also, we love big supermarkets that have "buy one get one free" deals, etc. Any tips on neighborhoods that are either one bus ride or a walk away.

If you all could offer some neighborhood suggestions, that would be great!

You might want to check out Malden. I've lived here for a year and only pay $925 (heat and hot water included) for my 1 bedroom apartment that is about 700sqft in size. I walk to the Malden T station and commute 15 minutes to downtown Boston for work every day. Very convenient.

There's a giant Super Stop and Shop 3 blocks from the Malden T station too. Just renovated. One of the few licensed to sell alcohol too (giant section). I live closer to a Foodmaster but walk to the S&S instead because the prices are great and the selection is phenominal.
