Husband's job transferring to Westminster. We want to move to smaller community (approx 10,000) with smaller class size for our Freshman (approx 100). Our school here is so big (460 in Freshman class) that it is hard for him to be involved in activities, sports, etc. Hubby is OK with 20-30 min commute. Some of the communities we are looking at are Erie and Mead. Maybe Frederick, Firestone, Dacono. Daughter will be attending college in Fort Collins and we have family in Longmont so that is why we are looking North of Westminster. Anyone have info on high schools in these areas? What are these communities like? We will be visiting in a few weeks to take a look at these areas but would like to get a feel for which ones to focus our search Thanks for any info.

Those areas are part of the St. Vrain District:

St Vrain Valley School District

You might be hard pressed to find a class size of 100, but they are much smaller than 460. I'm not sure if the numbers on the district website are up to date, but will at least give you a general idea.

Default Living in Erie? Mead? Frederick? Firestone?

TY for the SVSD link. I located enrollment on a CDE website. It listed Freshman class in 2009 as Erie 192, Frederick 205, Mead 205, Silver Creek 234 and Skyline 299. While not 100 class size, they are definately smaller than our current 460 so I am encouraged . We are doing web searches on these communities but would like to get general impressions from people familiar with these areas. Thanks!
