There is a Dillards withering on the vine at Twin Peaks Mall in Longmont, about 10 miles from Lyons. They may or may not stay, depending on what happens when the mall is redeveloped (IF that even happens)...

Dillards is at Flatirons Mall in Broomfield; Macys is at both 29th St in Boulder and at Flatirons Mall in Broomfield.

Dillards is hanging on grimly in Longmont until they make a decision on the mall's redevelopment. Macy's (not a very good one) is in Boulder, as well as Loveland and Broomfield.

Lyons is a pretty small mountain town with a local grocery, several restaurants, coffeeshops and a library. Some good schools too I hear. But it's not well-endowed with many amenities. A couple of years ago (before the economy tanked) there was talk of building a major supermarket on the outskirts of town after a couple of new developments went up, but it's yet to materialise. It's a pretty town and has quite a lot going for it but it depends on what you're looking for. Oh and public transportation is pretty minimal.

Hi,

We are thinking of moving to Lyons. We're in our early 30's, no kids yet but we're looking for a small town with a strong sense of community and friendly people. How would you say Lyons fits into that? It seems like it's a beautiful town and it's not too far from Boulder or Longmont for amenities.

Thank you!
