We are thinking of moving to Boulder/Louisville from Seattle. I think Boulder gets around 80 inches a year in snow. When it snows, how long does the snow stay before melting? Thanks for your help!

Sorry for the confusion. We will be moving to the city of Boulder or Louisville (Boulder seems pricey). Thanks!

I think 80 inches would be on the high side, unless you are in the mountains...look at Superior too.

Default Snow in Boulder

Max time on ground for snow along the front range, about 2-4 days. The higher end days are when we get 12 inches plus. Everyone always thinks of snow when they think of Colorado, but it only stays on the ground in the mountains, along the Front Range (the area approx from Fort Collins to Pueblo/Trinidad) it may snow, but it almost never stays on the ground for more than two days. It is common to have 8 inches or more of snow followed by a 65 degree day. The common adage here: If you don't like the weather, wait a minute.

Good luck with your move, and...we get 300 days of sun a year, a big change from Seattle!
