Can anyone compare Boulder and Ann Arbor for me? Are the cities similar in terms of cost of living, "feel" of the city, size...? Thanks much for the feedback!

Hi,
I currently live in Boulder and have moved from Michigan. Side by side comparison, I enjoy Boulder much more (I'm not a college student, I'm married with kids if that makes a difference). The winters in AA are bitterly cold, the winters here are mild and mostly sunny. The summers here are hot and dry and everything turns brown, the summers there are green and lush and hot and humid. The size feels comparable. In Boulder there's more to do, biking, hiking, lots of single people. If you're a single guy, this place might be for you. Taxes are super high in AA, here they aren't as high, but cost of living in Boulder is very high. For a 3 bed ranch you might pay 350K. But for Michigan standards, AA is expensive too. There was a time when when we thought to move to AA but I'm glad we didn't. Boulder is a nice place to live and raise a family. The economy in MI has tanked and I'm not sure how the job market is any longer. They are saying that people are getting their education there and moving as fast as they can. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me. If money wasn't a concern, I'd choose Boulder hands down.
