I live in an area that the HOA has dissolved. Right next to my driveway is a parking lot (5-6 cars) that the HOA used to take care of. Now who is the owner/person responsable for that lot. I was told that since it is inbetween my yard and the street that i am the owner. I'm thinking that it is now the city's property. Who is right or is there another answer? Right now I am in the process of selling my house and there are a cpl of junk cars parked there that i cant seem to find the owners and the city of longmont will do little about.
So how do I go about finding out who is the proper owners of this lot?
Any help is appreciated

tax assessor would be a start. The lots have rough property lines drawn in. You'd probably need a survey though.

If you're in Weld County, head up to the north side of Greeley to the county clerk offices where you can get the legal owner of record information.

Unless the property was part of your deeded ownership, it's not yours. It's also unlikely that the city owns it if the HOA was previously taking care of it; it may be a part of common property owned by the HOA. Just because the HOA was "dissolved" doesn't mean that they walk away from the ownership/asset; it may by held in common by the members of the former HOA, property owners in the subdivision.
