In a shocker, Top Rank’s Bob Arum, following Julio Cesar Chavez’s ten round decision over Luciano Cuello in Tinjuana, Mexico - said Chavez might fight Manny Pacquiao at the end of the year in a major event with a Mexico vs. Philippines theme. Chavez is a junior middleweight and Pacquiao has only fought once above 135-pounds, when he stopped Oscar De La Hoya last December at welterweight. Pacquiao seems too small for Chavez, even though the Mexican prospect has plenty of flaws. [more details]
No one wants to see that fight. The only reason Arum is saying anything about it is because of $$$$ he thinks it would make from Mexican fight fans. The public does not want to see a Pacman Chavez Jr. fight and I think Manny knows this.
This fight would be a disgrace....only Mexicans will pay to see it.
Whatever happened to staying in a weight class and holding on to the belt(s) and fighting the top ten contenders???
Mexicans would pay a high amount to see Pacquiao KO'ed.
unfortunately, that's NOT going to happen.
