My husband and I will be moving to the Satellite Beach area in a few weeks and have been looking at rental homes on the brevardmls and I have noticed some say property tax is included in rent. My question is, if it isnt listed as "included" does that mean we have to pay rent PLUS the property tax? We will be renting for 12 + months.

I'm not aware of any residential property for rent on the MLS that asks the renter to pay property tax on the property. For rentals of less than 6 months there is an 11% tax - 6% to the state and 5% to the county. Maybe that's what they're talking about.

Oh ok thank you, I was confused becuase on brevardmls some listings say included in rent "property taxes" and other listings do not have that

I think the purpose of the space where it says property tax is for homes for sale, but the site probably has the same data fields for both rentals and sales. So in order to let potential renters know that they are not accountable for the property tax, they mention that property tax is already covered.
