We live in Indiana and are relocating to that area in the next few weeks, as my husband has been offered a job at Sea Ray Boats. (Any thoughts on the job situation there?) I have 3 kids, an 18 year old son with high-functioning Autism. Which schools, nearby to where my husband would work, have the best special education programs? I also have a 14 year old daughter (freshman), who takes AP classes (honors), is on the honor roll and a cheerleader and would like to study marine biology, as she has wanted to be an animal trainer since age 4! Which high schools for her? Any schools with magnet programs for marine biology? Is it also possible to get the best of both worlds and have both of those kids in the same school? Lastly, I have a 1st grade son, who seems to be bored with school already! He's very active, always on the go. Which elementary schools are good (and which are not so good), and do any of the elementary schools have a hands-on approach that would curtail that boredom? Also, given our schools needs, which areas would be good to live in and which should we avoid? My husband's work commute time right now is about 10 minutes and he'd like to keep it as close to that as possible, but obviously safety is a priority.
