The only "safer" section of NF is east of the outlets. However, that is largely Love Canal where you have mutated 30 somethings that were conceived during the time of that. Niagara Falls is a hole. It's Camden,NJ with waterfalls. Stay north of the escarpment in Lewiston.
Which parts of Niagra Falls are better places to purchase homes in? Which streets and areas should I avoid?
I am a young single female from the western US.
Are any of these streets in bad areas?
69th Street
Buffalo Ave
Woodlawn Ave
Wyoming Ave
If you could tell me the safer more suburban areas of Niagra Falls, I would so appreciate it! Thank you in advance.
OK. You live out west somewhere. Of all places to pick to relocate...Niagara Falls,NY ? Really ? Hell, you want to experience the east coast ? New England and NYC far better options. Even Philly has way more economic hope and emenities than NF and WNY. NF has a casino and slums. Simple as that. As stated before, the "safer areas" are on toxic dumps known as Love Canal. There was a reason newly built homes in the 90's on Love Canal were selling as cheap as $10000. You really want to risk that for your current or future children ?
Last but not least. Right on Military, I stopped in a little hole in the wall called The Wagon Wheel years ago. No rhyme or reason. Just curious. I was there for 30 minutes and some kid at the time in the 90's, plays "Mas Tequila" by Sammy Hagar 5 times in a row in the juke box. This is a true story. Cannot make it up. Some moron played that song 5 times in a row and I recall the bartender got annoyed with him too.The kid looked off and probably was conceived in Love Canal. Basically where the old Lasalle HS was, which I understand is dissolved.

Any reason NF in particular?
I'm not too familiar with NF, but I am familiar with Lewiston. There are many nicer streets in NF proper, however, none that you listed above I would call "nicer". Most certainly not Buffalo Ave.
Get into the *-teenth streets, and I know most of those are decent.
However, you have all of WNY to choose from, and all of WNY is about 20 minutes away from everywhere else, so your commute is minimal no matter what.
I used to live in Niagara Falls and everyone is right- it is a horrible city to live in right now. Yes, there are good people there, and the falls itself is splendid, but the CIty of Niagara Falls is full of gangs and drugs...lots of falling down houses...so sad. I would not live anywhere in the city at all! The closest I would go would be the town of Niagara. That is only 15 min. away and is fine. Lewiston is very nice but more pricey. I live South of Buffalo in the southtowns and it is much nicer.
Good ole Niagara Falls. Well, I'm not sure what attracts you to it, but avoid downtown, and perhaps even Hyde Park, basically, areas between 1st and say...37th st. BTW, it only goes up to around 110th street or so, but the higher you go, the better the "living". Check out the Town of Niagara, near Military and Porter/Packard Rd, Wheatfield as mentioned, Lewiston, (which is pricey but nice) or even North Tonawanda, all close to The Falls. Avoid driving down Buffalo Avenue in the Falls a.k.a. Pothole Boulevard. You'll be flying in the air like the Dukes of Hazard if you're going 30mph and will destroy your car, not to mention you'll get a respiratory infection just from breathing the air down there as a result of toxic pollutants left over from the industrial age. My advice, stay away unless you have reasons beyond what you've posted. Drug infestation, weirdos and a Casino is what you get. I'd even become a Canadian and move to Fort Erie before Niagara Falls. You're much better off in Buffalo or one of it's suburbs or Grand Island. Everything is basically 20 minutes away anyway.

You want Lewiston if you are not familiar with this region. Lewiston can admittedly be a bit boring for a young, single female (I should know), but it's BEAUTIFUL, full of history, festivals, and has some of the best food in the country!! There is no place I rather live if I was working in the Niagara Falls area.
