I've read several books about the Lily Dale Spiritualist Assembly and I am interested in visiting it for personal reasons and out of curiosity.

Has anyone ever visited Lily Dale? Where should we stay? What can we expect?

I am sure that many of you think that Spiritualism is a bunch of BS. I understand that. So if you don't like this kind of thing and have nothing to add, feel free to skip this post.

We want to visit and write about the area today. What would be the best way to do this? Are people open about their beliefs?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sheena,

Yes I've been to Lily Dale. It's a wonderful, intriguing, fascinating place for sure! It's been a number of years since I've been. Would love to visit again

For overnight accommodations, if you're coming from points north, you'd probably find most your options around I90 Fredonia and then hwy 60 goes right to Cassadaga / Lily Dale. If you're coming from points south, check Jamestown or Chautauqua Lake area. You'd then take hwy 60 north into Lily Dale

I think it would be best to just go with an open mind. While the people there can be open about their beliefs, it would be best to not try to "interview" - rather just experience it, learn what you can and take it all in.

Hopefully you can write a follow-up here on your visit. I'm sure many folks would enjoy hearing about your experience there!

Have fun!

I've been there a few times, though it's been many years. It's a very interesting place, both beautiful and a bit eerie at the same time, and always very quiet. The mediums I've met there are very interesting, friendly, and highly educated. There is a hotel on the grounds from what I remember. It's an old building and I'm sure it's free of AC, wifi, cable, etc., but I'd bet it would be an interesting stay.

I attended the church in east Aurora on Sundays for a few months years ago out of curiosity . And went to thier church picnic which they had at lilydale. Real nice people. The church itself was an older crowd , not many children , but there were alot at lilydale that seemed to live there , locals. It was a nice visit. I would say it's more of a picnic , walk the woods type environment. Alot of home s you can stop at and get readings done , which I dint do.
