Does anyone have any experience with school districts regarding special needs in the Buffalo area? I have an 11 year old daughter with Down Syndrome and we are looking for a good school that would be willing to meet her needs. Are special needs services considered to be good in and around Buffalo?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
I can't speak first hand only what I have perceived or heard 2nd hand, but Frontier and Orchard Park districts seem to have a pretty good program and support. I have a family member who works for a developmentally disabled human services agency and from what I have heard those school districts in the southtowns at least sound good.
I also just heard about some new "adaptive" type gym opened up in derby, NY just the next town south of hamburg.
let us know how it works out, I'm sure there are others that can chime in or are curious as well.
All of the affluent suburban districts have good services, i have heard very good things about Orchard Park. I'm surr williamsville, east aurora, clarence, grand island, hamburg, and others have more tha adequate services
