Here's an article from the Atlantic about the Say Yes program and the results thus far for Buffalo's public school system.

One question I have is what happens now that the state will try to provide tuition-free college education. Does this mean that the resources of Say Yes that were earmarked for tuition can now be freed up for its other services?

That Harvey Austin school is the old school 92 by Walden Ave. that was completely & beautifully rebuilt 5 or so years ago.

Good question and Syracuse has the same program, with some steadily increasing results for the better.

Keep in mind that there are state and private colleges that participate in the Say Yes to Education program. So, graduates of schools in the program can still have the option of attending participating private colleges/universities.

Also, Say Yes has a holistic approach, as it starts with children at a young age in terms of summer activities and such. More on the program: Home - Say Yes to Education
