Thank you representative collins for trying to restore the rights of NYers that were unconstitutionally taken from us by Cuomo.

Collins introduces bill to temper the SAFE Act | wivb.com

This is important legislation for anyone who values freedom, the constitution, and gun rights among other issues.

Cliff notes on this proposed legislation is it would establish that individual states cannot further restrict citizens 2nd amendment rights.

The safe act has yet to be tested in the supreme court regarding its constitutionality and this legislation would essentially nullify it.

I really feel badly for the law abiding, legal gun owning citizens of NY. I hope progress is made to regain your natural rights of self defense.

I personally know law abiding citizens that one day they are perfectly legal citizens, then an illegal law is passed and those same citizens literally did nothing different and now are potential felons if they get caught. By merely possessing items that are entirely legal just 60 miles away in Pennsylvania, that were legal for them prior.

Taking away someone's rights and Making someone a criminal when they haven't done anything wrong but Just solely on an unjust law is terrible.

And thanks to sheriff Tim Howard and his support. He is strongly against the unjust safe act as well.

Collins apparently is a much bigger fan of the 2nd Amendment than he is of the 10th.

Completely repeal the 2nd amendment. It's over 225 years old and out of date. This isn't the wild west, nor are there any Redcoats coming. Collins is nothing but a suckup to Trump.

Just because you children that never had toy guns when you were actually young, doesn't mean you have to make up for it now with your arsenals in your basement. We pay law enforcement to defend us, not self appointed Dirty Harry types.

And this is the wrong forum to discuss politics;

Then why are you making a political statement? The 2nd Amendment is not just for the "Redcoats". It is for any tyrannical government foreign, or domestic, and for self defense against an assailant that wants to harm you. The police can not anticipate crime, nor can they be there when you need them. They come after the fact. Nobody is advocating being a vigilante either.

Thank you upstate guys for voting for reps like Collins. Our 2nd Amendment rights in NY are almost non-existent, and if our overlords had their way, they'd really be gone. You guys have some good reps up there that can hopefully get things done.

I will remember that when you include one of your political zingers as an additional excuse to justify why nothing goes the way you want...

Sounds like ol' Bruce has either never read the preamble, or more likely ignored parts he didn't agree with. Our founding fathers motives and intentions are clear on what is within our rights and what they expect of us.
