I, like everyone else in the Buffalo area, watched the live broadcast of the stand-off that happened this evening.

3 hours of "live coverage" and I heard several times that our (local) media remained at a 7 second delay because quote... they didn't want to live "real time" to viewers if the situation were to go "bad"

When the SWAT created a distraction, someone (with the media camera) annouced "shots fired" and in a micro-split second they jumped scenes to anchors in the studio. A knee-jerk reaction on the "news" channel's behalf because (as it turns out) the suspect was taked into custody without injury.

A gunman who caused a tense standoff with police Monday night is now in police custody.
SWAT team officers were able to get to the gunman's car just before 9 o'clock this evening, after an hour-long standoff near the Ontario Street exit of the 190.

The entire ordeal began just after 6 o'clock this evening, with what witnesses say appeared to be a domestic dispute. They say they saw the man driving southbound on the 190 from the Grand Island area heading into Buffalo, when a woman jumped out of the man's white pickup truck. They say the woman fled the vehicle and appeared to be okay. At that point, the man pulled out a handgun and pointed it at a state trooper.
