Great proposal because you're get away from a topic. Let's get focused.
this would be a great title for the Buffalo News article.
Wouldn't you like to propose your idea to one of the editors?
Can't you re-open this topic in the parenting forum?
NativeNYCer can post to me private if she wants. You are missing the point: she wants a passport for her kid. Don't read our posts if you don't want to....
I have a question ... Does it work if you have an imbedded drivers license from another state, but were to cross at Niagra Falls? I live in Washington State, and I am going to travel to see my girlfriend, who lives in Hamilton. Rather than get my passport right now and pay more to fly to Toronto, I want to fly into Buffalo and cross over. Here you can get the enhanced drivers license to cross into British Columbia, will my Washington state drivers license work for me to cross in New York?

It should work with out problems as you are listed in the Governments Data Base with the imbedded license. You can check with the DMV in Washingto to be sure.
I tried to get a passport for my son before we move up so that we can go to Canada this summer, but his father is not cooperating. Even though I am his sole provider and caregiver, I still need the permission of his father to get a passport. Does anyone know if I can get my son a non-drivers ID/passport w/o his father's permission?
NativeNYCer, I have been through this and it sucks. I needed to get my ex-husbands permission before I could get my sons a passport. Regardless if he is an absentee parent, he will still be required to give permission. If your son is old enough, try having him ask his father, maybe he'd be more willing to do it for him.
