Thank you to all in whom contributed to this thread. It helped a lot, but unfortunately, it looks as if they have settled for a different place not mentioned, outside the city. As much as I would have liked it to be in the city (like the Hyatt or Statler, etc), they have chosen a last minute place in the suburbs: the Tonawanda Castle. Not my favorite place, but all the other information provided here was very helpful - thank you to all!
And yes. We are going with the castle theme

Wow, I've never even heard of that place. I'll have to go look it up! :-)
If they're going with a whole castle theme for the wedding, Say Cheesecake makes a gorgeous castle cake - and it doesn't have to be made of cheesecake. They do all kinds of standard cakes, too. I went to a wedding last year where they did the castle cake, and it was delicious. I think I also remember seeing a castle cake at Muscoreil's when I was there ordering a cake for a baby shower...

Wow! That's fascinating about the castle cakes. We will definately have to do that in conjunction with the theme!

Still no reason to let the thread die off. There are a lot of great places for wedding inside and outside of Buffalo, and of all seasons too.
So I think that if anyone else is getting married and have questions, please ask.
Is the Tonawanda Castle the old Armory? Sure looks like it.
Yes.
