Can anyone give advice? We are going to Florida from the Buffalo area and would like to know any routes that are the least of white knuckle drives weather permitting of course.
We have done the I75 but hate going through Atlanta...
We have done the I-77 route but don't like getting into those steep hills in West Virginia from Bickley to Whythe..
wondering about taking the 219.. eventually getting over to the I-95 just barely south of Washington..
We don't know anything about the winter condtions of that route.
any suggestions????? thanks. Joy

What about taking 219 to I-86 East to around Corning and Route 15 south to Harrisburg. Then take I-83 to Baltimore to I-95 and take that all the way to Florida. If you don't want to take Route 15, take I-86(or Route 17) to Binghamton and get on I-81 south there to Harrisburg. I say that about Route 15 because some parts of it in PA look like it could only be a 2 lane road for parts of it.

Default definitely take Route 15

When we lived in DC we traveled Route 15 and not only is it the most direct and time saving, the time passes by so much more quickly because it's not endless highway. We always made it a point to stop at the Wegmans on Williamsport, PA for a bathroom break, food and to load up on snacks. Friends of ours who have lived in DC for 17 years have used every possible route and find Route 15 the best too.

You can pick up I-95 in the Baltimore area.
